new. It has been used mainly for commuting but also for general pleasure and camping trips around the country. My career is in the motorcycle trade, so I`ve done all servicing/repairs myself. It has received regular oil and filter changes every 2500km and it still sounds lovely. | It has a Polini variator and a Malossi rear clutch fitted. The front forks are still in excellent condition but I replaced the rear shocks with some YSS items (at the cost of 204 Euros) and that made a huge difference to the ride quality! I also fitted a Evo front mudguard for better looks. | Like most (if not all) Gileras, the speedometer/odometer is in km but it has mph on the speedo too. Therefore, the odometer shows 45757 km NOT miles! | It comes with some brand new spares, Givi centre console bag and Master key. As you can see from the photos, it has a Givi E30 top box fitted, Acerbis hand guards, Oxford clock (battery needs replacing) Acumen voltmeter (although I may remove this to fit on my new bike) and some heated grips. However, the Malossi 172 kit has only done 1000 miles.Bad Points (not many!!)The bike has no tax or MOT but will pass no problem.Minor chips (1 on clock unit and 1 on middle fairing)The seat has no barrel or latch but can still be openedNeeds a new clock unit (petrol, oil and indicator beacons don`t work on the unit). One can be picked up on E-Bay for about £35.I have taken real pride in re-building this bike. It`s a unique 2-stroke 172. I`ll be sad to see it go. seen a better more original bike than this in my life. The all important matching engine and frame numbers are present and correct. It has covered only 4500 miles (7150 KM) Here is why.If you look at the photos you will see one of a 2004 newspaper. This was placed in the seat the day it went into storage in a barn where it stayed for 8 years. There is very little rust because of this dry storage. The tyres are in good condition and it looks spot on, very original. It has one previous owner which to be honest is unheard of. I am sure you all know that these are the new Lambretta and are getting rare. If you want to hold on to one of these then this is surely the one. It even has the original Piaggio removable top box, which is a little scratched from storage. The screen and mirrors are original and in good condition. Most of these bits went in the bin as you will know they are hard to find like this.Well onto the mechanicals. It has a new battery and starts on the electric start, first time every time. I have ridden it and it rides and stops exactly as it should. I took it for an MOT today and it passed with one advisory on the steering headstock bearings having slight play.
