  | Lambretta auto project . Here`s your chance to build an auto Lambretta with an engine capable of 80+ MPH at a fraction of the cost. I started this many years ago when no one had
really done this conversion, and when other scooters appeared on the scene I lost interest and put it to the back of the shed; it is just taking up room now and it would be a shame not to finish it but I just don`t have the time. The back section retains the donor Runner 180 frame, so the engine mounts are as Gilera intended without the vibration of the later ‘solid mounted` conversions. This has been aligned to a Jet 200 front end and retains the original lines of the Lambretta and does not have the ‘jacked up` appearance of other conversions. It also retains the Runner centre stand which lifts the rear wheel off the ground as all autos should have. The frame is designed to take either series 1,2 or 3 bodywork or be used as a cut down; the brackets have not been finished so the choice is up to you. The frame loop has been widened to take standard panels but is in a rough state as I intended to make a fibreglass copy for the finished scooter. This loop does not need to be used however, as now widened panels are available from PM Tuning a standard loop could be used and this is simply bolted on. The engine is a water cooled 180cc and was taken from a crash damaged machine with low mileage; I don`t have any further information than this, there may be some small parts missing such as bolts etc please look at pictures. Everything on it is original except for these things that i have replaced with new bits (but I have since sourced NOS and will sell these on as well if willing to pay what I did): Rear light lens, petrol tap, light switch. I put a new clamp on for the front brake cable where it goes into the front wheel, but have an original secondhand to replace it. Has got a new battery. Also has replacement panel rubbers. Comes with original footboard extensions and airscoops. It also has a petrol gauge where the cap would go. This doesn`t work, but it just needs the cork inside replacing. Frame is servetta 150 with original type in board disc cable operated, with front dampers. Scooter is an sx 200 clone and has had a chrome ring fitted to the frame below the headset as per sx 200. Engine is 12 volt electric. Everything works as it should, has two sets of keys and some service history. I have had it serviced bu Medway scooters in Kent and everything that needs doing is done. Paint work is ok , not show quality but pretty good considering its a scooter that is used not hidden away for the show or rideout. Side panels have key locks fitted for extra security.
