  | Piaggio Vespa ET4, 2002, One Owner from New. FOR SPARES ONLY..Very reluctant sale of my much-loved Piaggio Vespa ET4, which I purchased new from Metropolis in August 2002. Only 12,467 miles in and around London since
then - I own two other motorbikes, hence the relatively low mileage. In October 2011, I was stationary at a pedestrian crossing and a mini-cab knocked into me (and another scooter-rider alongside me) from behind. The rear indicator lens was smashed, and bike was knocked forward and along on its side. A low-speed nudge, with minimal damage. However, the mini-cab`s insurance firm thought differently and, after inspection, decided to write the bike off. Annoyingly, instead of giving the bike a Category `C` or `D` write-off loss, they gave it a Category `B` (recorded on the 27th October 2011). This means that the bike can be SOLD FOR SPARES ONLY!!!! I`m not sure why they gave it a Category `B` loss rating, but having checked on some bike forums, this is not an uncommon occurence. My insurance company were surprised, and confirmed during their own inspection that there was no frame or structural damage to the bike, and that all it needed to be road-legal again was a new indicator lens, and for the brake levers to be straightened-out (since done by me). As such, very annoying - but they paid me out for the total loss, and they returned my bike free-of-charge (documentation available to show this), so i guess I can`t complain.   | 2000 PIAGGIO VESPA ET4 SILVER/GREEN.I am selling my lovely little Vespa Piaggio ET4. Has been serviced very recently (Dec 2011), with new front tyre fitted, new starter belt, new battery,
new seat lock fitted, as well as everything spruced up and cleaned. Now for the downside... It is a very well used bike (as you can see from the mileage); there is a fair amount of exhaust deterioration which means that it`s a bit noisy. The electric starter rarely works, so the kick starter is usually the way forward. However, recently I have been finding the kick start a challenge, but then I am pretty feeble... all it needs is a bit of leg power and suitable footwear (i.e. not flimsy fake converse...). Also there is some minor paintwork damage that you can see in the photos. However, I have a pot of the original green paint which i`m giving away with the bike so, armed with a paintbrush and a bit of skill, that can easily be fixed. All in all it`s a nice looking bike, very cheap to run, great to ride... but it needs a bit of care and attention. If you are prepared to do that then I would love to hear from you... Happy Bidding!
